The Effects of Steroids

Amongst the coverage of various doping scandals around the world of sport, the side-effects of taking steroids are often overlooked. The various baseball players, cyclists and athletes who have, over the years, gone down this route in the pursuit of success, have done so at a personal cost, and in a revealing article at Esquire.com, one writer details his own experiences of steroids.

The unpleasant physical and psychological impact of one 16-week course of steroids would be enough to put many people off for life, and it is clear that those who do take them are probably paying a greater price than any ban or fine that could be handed out to them by the relevant authorities.
