Football: Hard Times

With Portsmouth standing on the edge of collapse, the first Premier League club to come so close to financial disaster, and Crystal Palace the latest Football League club to go into administration, there's a piece on the BBC website about the state of football's finances. It is a worrying sign when even the Premier League, supposedly the most lucrative in the world, cannot generate enough money to fund its clubs. It will make for a worrying few years for fans due to the debt-laden nature of many clubs.
